Junk removal and movers in Wilton, CT

Wilton is right up Route 7 from Norwalk, so it is one of the closest towns we serve. Houses here sit on big wooded lots, and many have barns, sheds and attics that have not been emptied in years. We clear those out, haul away renovation debris and move families in and out of town. The quote is upfront, and we do the heavy work.

Homes and buildings in Wilton

Most of Wilton is single-family homes on large lots, a lot of them wooded and set back from the road. Long driveways and gravel or sloped approaches are common, so we ask how close the truck can get. There are plenty of antique colonials, especially around Cannondale, with low ceilings, narrow staircases and small doorways that make big furniture slow to move. Newer colonials have full basements and large garages. Outbuildings like barns and sheds come up often on cleanouts. Wilton Center has some condos and apartments near the shops and the train.

Junk removal in Wilton

The Wilton Transfer Station is at 71 Mather Street. A town vehicle permit sticker is required for any visit, and the station works on tickets, not cash. Bulky waste and furniture are charged in tickets per item or per load, and demolition material is too. Brush, leaves and other yard waste are not accepted, and asphalt shingles have to go to Danbury. It is open Monday through Thursday and Saturday morning, so plan around that. If you do not want to buy tickets and make several trips, we load it up and take it in one visit.

Moving in and out of Wilton

Common Wilton moves are family homes going to Ridgefield, Norwalk, Westport or down to Westchester, and downsizers moving to a condo. A moving truck cannot use the Merritt Parkway, so Route 7 is the main road in and out. Long or steep driveways matter, so tell us if the truck may not make it up and we will plan the carry. If you are moving into a condo near Wilton Center, check whether the building needs a certificate of insurance.

Wilton questions

Can you clean out an old barn or shed on my property?

Yes. We clear barns, sheds, garages and attics, including old furniture, broken equipment and leftover building material. Tell us how far the building is from where the truck can park. Pricing depends on how much is there and how long it takes, and the quote is free and upfront.

Is it worth hiring you instead of using the Mather Street transfer station?

If you have a permit sticker, a truck and time, the transfer station works. Bulky items are charged in tickets, and yard waste is not taken there. Many people in Wilton call us because the load is too big for one car trip or too heavy to lift. We do the loading and the hauling.

Our driveway is long and steep. Can a moving truck get up it?

Sometimes it can and sometimes it cannot. Tell us about the driveway when you call, or send a photo. If the truck has to stay at the road, we plan for the longer carry and bring enough people for it, and that is built into your quote.
